Eguavoen hopeful as injury knocks out Etuhu
Super Eagles camp came to life yesterday as news of the progress made on the lifting of FIFA suspension filtered in at their training pitch at the National Stadium in Abuja. All but three of the invited foreign-based players trained with the team yesterday.
Dickson Etuhu became the latest player to bow out of the match due to injury he allegedly sustained at his club Fulham. Mikel Obi and Osaze Odemwingie had earlier also been ruled out due to injuries sustained at their club matches last weekend.
But Chief Coach, Austin Eguavoen, who had on Tuesday listed Idibe and Christian Ogbodo as replacements for Mikel and Osaze insists that he has a team that will get result for Nigeria against Guinea on Saturday, choosing to replace the absenting foreign-based players with boys from the domestic league.
